Established in January 2016 by Gary Owen, our social gathering club, “The Cask & Ash Club” is the first of its kind on the Treasure Coast. This is the place for scotch and cigar aficionados to hang out and enjoy the finer things in life.
We seek to build a community within our community.
We invite you to stop by and set the cares of your hectic world aside for a time and experience something unique, have some fun, enjoy exquisite libations, meet new friends and have great conversations.
If you’re new to scotch, or whisk(e)y's in general, this is a great opportunity to learn more and enjoy some drams.
Gary is a 30+ year resident of the Treasure Coast, coming from his native town of Johnstown, PA.
He is a former Search & Rescue (SAR) Pilot, Commander, and Inspector General of the USAF Auxiliary/Civil Air Patrol. He is a graduate of Air Command Staff College and Squadron Officer School at Air University, Maxwell AFB.
He is a Licensed Insurance Agent and Life Underwriting Training Council Fellow and Graduate of the American College. For the past 5 years, he has been employed by a national insurance carrier as their Senior Director.
He is a PADI Advanced Scuba Diver, Private Pilot, and a Master Mason supporting his fraternity as an officer at Stuart’s Acacia Lodge.
Because of Gary’s passion for single-malt scotch, bourbon, rum, and fine cigars, he knew that creating this group would be the perfect way to connect with other like-minded aficionados just like him.
There really is no better (or more affordable) place you can go to learn about fine scotch and other spirits in a relaxed, laid back, fun, and intimate setting with friends and neighbors.
The experience is unique, it’s fun, educational, and you get to meet new friends, make new connections, smoke fine cigars, eat delicious food, and enjoy some exclusive and tasty nectar (fine spirits).
Scotch is carefully and painstakingly produced in 5 main regions in Scotland. Eventually, you will have the opportunity to sample all 5 regions at our monthly tastings.
One month we’ll take you to the Highlands region to enjoy 5 expressions, the next month we’ll sample fine scotch from the Speyside region, then move on to Islay the following month, and then to the Lowlands region, etc.
We’ll provide you information about those distilleries and tasting notes of course.
Additionally, we’ll also have a RUM, BOURBON, and TEQUILA month for you to experience, as well as “Exclusive” tasting events.
